The Lord Roars blog and the Jim and Shirley Suttle Scholarship Fund adhere to the following basic evangelical Christian values.

Believing the Holy Bible to be the true revelation of God, in Three Persons, and therefore the only basis for a correct worldview encompassing the physical and spiritual world; and

The Sovereignty of God eclipses all of mankind and mankind’s efforts because “Everything in the Heavens and Earth is Yours, O Lord, and this is Your Kingdom, You are the ruler of all mankind”, and

Almighty God is active in the affairs of man saying “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope”, and

The basis of any correct worldview has been established by “The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ [who] has begotten us again into a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead”, and

The Southern Baptist Convention and a multitude state conventions, local churches, educational institutions and area associations have endeavored to proliferate this message of hope and truth, while reinforcing the worldview produced by that truth to people near and far, and

The success and generosity of the United States is God-given, Biblically rooted and based in the people’s belief in God, in the “rule of Law”, the Judeo-Christian tradition, inalienable rights endowed by God, individual accountability to self, others and God, and the cohesiveness of the American people, and

These core elements of American culture are increasingly obscured by the expanding role of federal government agencies as educator of the people, and

Many agents of education have lost sight of these truths, have undermined the assimilation of new immigrants into the American culture and have established curriculums which endanger the long-term future of the American Dream, and

The Biblical family unit is foundational to a healthy nation and certain Christian organizations such as   Texas Baptist “Children At Heart Minstry” including Gracewood, Miracle Farm, STARRY, and Texas Baptist Children’s Home, and Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children’s  Hope Program work ardently to sustain family units, and

With some hardship, we and many others have sought to proliferate these values by  providing formal christian education for each of our children, and

Supporting the concept that “All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting and for training in righteousness” (2 Tim 3:16), we will support biblical-based Christian education, and …
